A Portrait of Faith: Mary
10.  Specific Applications
In the early church a controversy raged about the nature of Jesus:  How does one explain or describe the relationship between the divinity and humanity of Jesus?  A man named Nestorius called Mary the bearer of Christ;  the Churchs confession has been the bearer of God.  What distinction is drawn in those two confessions?

In our study of Mary, who has always been at the center of our discussion?  What position or calling does that give Mary?  How, then, should we perceive our own callings in life?  What and who is the center of vocation?

Does God need a king or noted person to achieve His purposes?  How might we expect God to work in our lives?

How does Marys experience help us to see how "family" is redefined in terms of her Son?

What words of Mary might be chosen as an example of her faith and our faith?  In what does Mary trust?  In what kind of relationship do we see ourselves with God?

If we have events and words that we ponder and treasure, how are they kept in focus in our lives?  What events recorded seem most crucial in Marys life?  What events are pivotal for us?  How can we tell they are pivotal?  Around what do they pivot?

Comment on the phrase "My God" or "My Jesus" based upon John 2:1-11.

Where is Mary when we see her last?  Where should we be seen?
